I've actually torn my hip flexor before, and once it's damaged, it never fully heals simply because it's almost always being used.
Depending on the pain and no pain, ice and excessive stretching will help, that is when it's sort of already healed.
I've asked my doctor buddy, and he says there are many little muscles in that one area that make up the hip flexor, and any "1" of them or more, can be damaged.
You can self-diagnose, and do your own self-recuperation regiment, or go see a pro,and let him take a picture to specify, but you'll still do the same overall regiment. I already mentioned it.

 I drive and sit like this a lot. Use cruise control always. This is about the only position I can get relief. the problem is inactivity it stoves you up when i sit for a while i can barely walk when i get up

You need to stretch the TFL muscle. On each left. Your wife, or ex... whichever is the nurse, should be able to tell you how to do that.

Been having pain for a while. I spend 8-12 hours a day in my truck. It's especially bad sitting in a vehicle.  I notice when I'm wearing a belt (which is most of the time) it is worse. I can grab my pants or belt and lift it off my leg and get a little relief. It kinda feels like I put a tennis ball between my thigh and stomach and then bend over smashing it into my leg or waist. Any thoughts? (It's ok to go Coach Hark on me) is this anatomically correct?
Just want to make folks smile, and spit coffee on their keyboard.

Had the same issue and had a double Hernia. Suspenders will help, and the added benefit of the suspenders is you'll look like an OLD
