All, I am looking for suggestions and/or help to find a product if someone makes it (I have searched for hours and not seen anything). I have an 03' Skeeter SX200 that the previous owner smacked the tar out of the trailer front roller/mount and damaged the area where the top cap is secured to the hull under the rub rail. When I unload on a steep ramp it catches the roller and I can see the top cap lift a little and it makes me cringe every time. I would love to take it and have it repaired but with teenagers headed to their selected university this next year I am trying to do this somewhat inexpensively.

I have thought about building a bar that bolts under the front tie down ring and sticks up just a little above the nose and have a plate under the trolling motor to stabilize and strengthen it. In reality it could stick up a little above to help in the event the ramp is steeper than expected, it would kick the front up in stead of going under the roller and causing other issues. I am a welder so this is where I am headed(because cosmetically you can not tell there is an issue) but wanted to see if anyone has seen such a thing before I spend the time fabbing something up.

Thanks in advance for insight and input.

Mike

if your bow is hitting the roller upon loading you are too deep in the water try backing it in wetting the board an pull it back out to find the sweet spot for loading.

It is really because two of the ramps I frequent are steeper than they should be. If I stop short I can't hardly push the boat back on the boards. Putting it on took me a few tries but I have found the correct depth. For getting it off I have tried it a few different depths. Will try leaving it hooked up tight and get the boards wet to see if it helps. Thanks for the suggestion.

It'll help a lot getting them wet first.
