LOL. I know what you mean. The vary shallow banks dont help either.

My Father-In-Laws private pond was only about 4-5 foot deep and 1.5 acres in size. It produced 12-14 pound catfish.

I did talk to one of the rangers who stated they had a digital scan of the lake done and there were respectable fish in the State Park. But they didnt divulge how or where to fish for them.

All the bass and crappie habitats which were built are basically only assessable boat. I am afraid the catfish might be the same way. I dont know, but I want to find out.

Timbertoes, you nailed it. I am all ready talking to the Mrs. about buying one.

My real problem is that my 7 year old is my die hard fishing buddy. I would trust my oldest in one man kayak, but not the youngest, LOL. I may have to look at a canoe or a two person kayak.

i would go with the double seat kayak they just seem to be less wobbly than a canoe. Thats just me. Good luck with your purchase!:)

I appreciate the feedback.

That just depends on what I can find. LOL

My Dad and I went down a grade 3 river with a sit on top, two man, ocean grade, rescue approved kayak. We have also been trekking in a 16 foot aluminum canoe. I wish Dad still had that old canoe because it was a lot more sturdy that many kayaks I have been in.

I am going to Camp Hale Scout reservation this nest week. I know the people on the lake front and I think I am going to see what they have and what they would recommend. I am currently kayak and paddle craft certified with the BSA. I think I going to test out everything they have there.
