Just got 2 new Curado K 6.2 they look and feel amazing, but haven't got them dialed in very good. How many breaks are y'all pushing in on the inside?

Thanks

AdvTX

The day after catching a lot of fish is still a good day.

I think I have one brake on and the wind dial set at one. Can’t remember having a backlash of any kind and can throw into wind with no problems.

Believe I have 1 also, but can tell you I've caught bass to 8lb and a 17lb striper and the reel performed flawlessly. When I got it didn't think it was as solid and substantial as the 200E7s I use but so far real happy with it.

Took me a few casts to get it dialed in with a 1/2 oz Jackhammer. I set the little dial on the lower side all the way to MORE and it still "fuzzed up" a little on a long hard cast cast, so I opened the side plate and engaged one centrifugal brake. One cast like that and dialed back the MORE dial to about 40% and it was good to go.

I was just given a Calcutta 200 and 100. Smooth reels. I also have the Curado K and like it a better for heavier weight line. I use the Calcutta's for my sand bass and crappie reels.

One internal brake. External between 2 and 4 depending on wind. My favorite reels I own. Just picked up another one yesterday. Cast like butter and no fish can beat them. Looking forward to hooking a giant still with one though!

I picked up two of the 8.5.1’s back in September. I enjoy both of them but the only issues I have with one is the thumb bar cover broke on me a week ago, called Shimano and they are sending me the part out for free. Then after reading the reviews lots of people are having issues with the svs infinite cast control on the bottom left side of the reel. Both of mine are a tad tight but are functioning with some work. Overall I love the reels. I will buy two more when I go back to San Diego in September. Plus I will take all my other Shimano reels out to Irvine, CA and drop them off for service turn around time is a week usually...

If it's the same as the Chronarchs, I have two brakes engaged and keep the dial between 2-4. Sling it pretty far. I use them for top water baits.

I have 2 brakes engaged, but throwing 3/4 ounce Carolina so I get plenty of distance regardless.

good prices here: https://shimano.factoryoutletstore.com/cat/84635-561013/Shimano-Curado-K-Spinning-Reels.html

I have the 6:2:1 and love it. One note. if you open the door to change the brakes, you have to back off the dial brake setting to get the door to close. This makes logical sense, but took me a google to figure it out.
