We went out yesterday hoping to catch some crappie, only caught 2. Maybe it was too hot who knows. Gar 1970 caught a really nice bass though. 24in and it weighed 6lb 5oz.
It was fun getting it out of the weeds, but worth it. She got to live another day.

Nice one! And on what I assume was a crappie setup as well, must've been some fight!

New to angling. Catch and release. The dream - to catch at least one of every species in our great state (if I can manage to resist carp)!

I see his little crappie jig. Odd how very often one is targeting bluegills or crappie and you hook into a sizable bass. I am now up to an almost 6 pounder using a #7 jighead hook on 2 lbs. Sufix Nanobraid.

Bass like the occasional snack and I usually land 1 or 2 when I am targeting panfish.

The moral of this oft-repeated story: Always carry along something small when aiming for LMBs.

Good photo, nice catch!

Brad
