He isn't taking anyone's spot but I sure would like to see him take a bunch of their money. The rumors of his demise have been greatly exaggerated!

They go to a lake with little to no information and you get different guys at the top. The biggest thing I notice is how inconsistent the weights are. If it were a lake they've been to 10 times, the weights would probably be a lot tighter.

Yep. A lot of those on here.
They dont forget how to fish or cant keep up with new techniques; its the stamina that goes. Fishing hardcore 2.5 practice days then 2-4 days of tournament on top of long travel and doing this multiple times a month for 6-9 months is what gets the older guys. Not to mention bad waves beating them up and all the off weeks the guys still spend fishing to stay in tune. Throw in sponser travel and commitments and you start to see why older folks cant hang. Its survival of the fittest and that usually isnt old guys. Heck im mid 30s and in decent shape and I can tell you I couldnt do it and still be mentally engaged throughout.
But they still know how to fish and can win any given Sunday. Just not most Sundays.

I feel ya, wait until you get another 10-15 years of fishing and see how it feels.

I enjoyed seeing Fritts in his full back fishing chair today on the live broadcast

It's just tough to fish at that level the fish older you get. The tour just takes so much energy. It sells a lot of Mountain Dew, 5 Hour Energy drinks and Monster Drinks. It's a grind. You see that in AOY points. Fritts is 97 even with being towards the top this week. Clunn is 105 and Elias is 107. It's hard for me to get up the energy or desire to fish a tournament at 55 unless the weather is super. Chasing a schedule like they do would probably kill me....lol.

However winning one gets you $100k. It's good to see some of the olds who help build the sport get one every now and then.
