Thanks Banker, Gitter, and MinMirny! Always glad to share. MinMirny, I wasn't using heavy leads (1.25oz), and just had a bit of method on there that probably bumped it to roughly 2.5-3oz. My rods are 3.25TC and are specifically designed to cast around 4oz of lead. I wasn't even chucking it as far as possible, just enough to get it 30-40yds off the bank. Pretty sure it was a defect as I've only been using these rods since May 5 of this year, contacted the manufacturer and we'll see how it plays out.

Great post and plenty of nice fish. Good job TXMulti-Species! As always thanks for sharing. woot

Side Note: Your pole tips should not be breaking for a short time of use. Hope you get some satisfaction from the manufacturer. I would also try taking them back to the retailer if you bought them from a store!

Thanks Laker and Potlicker! I'll definitely be taking them somewhere, I've treated those rods very well and for them to be breaking on me so fast is beyond me.

Yes, it's not you, for sure = no doubts at all!
My oldest carp rod is almost 20 yo, it is 2.25TC and I am casting 4+oz all the time, and sometimes my distance goes 100+ yards.
Good luck fighting manufacturers!

Love reading your posts, its like a novel, anyways not to confuse the issue here but the rod tips are fine it is the top eye inserts that jumped out, a new high quality top eye replacement will outlast your poles if the manufacturer doesn't replace,
Now on a better note lets go fishing

Heck yeah, I'm ready as soon as my rods are.
