It is hard to tell and it may just be the angle of your image but it looks as though your transducer is above the skeg on the bottom of the boat. This can put your transducer in dirty water causing the turbulence.
I use my charts when running on plain. The Contours tell me my depth and what is ahead of me which I find to be much safer than watching numbers.

Thanks. I appreciate your comments. The transducer is in the only place without the plates.

The centerline of the transducer (top to bottom) should be matched to the hull bottom, if you want on-plane depth and 2D sonar. Both look to be at least 1/2" too high. Also the trailing end should be lower than the leading end so it deflects the water to get a smooth water flow across the face of the transducer you use for on-plane depth.

It also looks like it is sitting directly in front of the rib on the bottom of the hull.

Add this to your 2D transducer to get more adjustment without drilling more holes and it will act like a jackplate for the transducer. https://www.transducershieldandsaver.com/product/sbb-4-spring-back-bracket/
