Look on Craigslist under sporting, there were two perception pescador 12 footers on there yesterday that were in very good shape for $375 each I think. Those are a good place to start, they track straight, paddle easy, are a good balance between maneuverability and stability, and you can fish big or small water with them without breaking the bank. If you get too stable, they are heavy tanks and hard to paddle.
See you on the lake and have a great day!

Agree with not buying an entry level kayak, buy a good one. My son and I had Jackson kayaks and they were great. We ended up buying the Hobie Pro Angler's. I think they are hard to beat but they are expensive. I ended up selling both of them when we bought a boat. There are deals on Craigslist. The PA's are set up to fish right from the get go, very stable, and the pedal drive is much better.
