Lower Mt. Fork
We had a good week on Lower Mt. Fork, this pass week we made two trips for one reason to do some Dry Flies fishing with our 1wt. fly rods.
We had a lots of fish caught most all day on three flies, early we started out with a Hopper size 10 this last from 6:00 until about 7:30-8:00 each morning, then we had to down size has the sun got higher in the sky to a PMX Royal size 14 this pattern lasted for about another 2 hours. Then the fly we used until we quit was a Adams Spent Wing size 18 most of the fish we punt in the net was 12- 14 inches we had about 5 to 7 fish per hours that made for a real fun day.

Next plan trip will be after the 4 of July, heading off to other water.

Major fish kill happened on the LMF Friday thru the weekend. You probably noticed the ants and feeding fish after the thunderstorms during the week. Apparently it poisoned many of the stocked fish and smaller wild fish. Lots of birds having a smorgasbord of fish along the shores right now.

Where did you fish that didn't have people swimming? I won't go back until Fall.

We only go on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday from 6:00an to 1pm this time of the year, don't have that many people to put up with.
I love to catch them on Dry Flies this time of the year, you will get more on Nymphs and wet Flies this time of the year in the deeper holes but there just something about getting them to come up to take a Dry Fly.
Will be back on LMF on the 10,11,12 of July. If you see a old man with a 1wt rod fishing it just could be me.
