Kait decided to come home yesterday for Father's day and when I asked her what plans she had, her response was "Idkkkkk what do you wanna do! It's your weekend!" Well, she knew exactly what I wanted to do. She arrived just a little after 11am and after unloading her vehicle, starting a load of laundry and a quick sammich we headed to the lake. First jig hit the water at about 12:40 and it was fast and furious for the first 40 minutes with 24 in the box. The bite slowed a little and the fish moved a little deeper in the water column. Kait was putting a whipping on me with the "Neapolitan" custom tie in the early going and was for sure letting me know it. As the afternoon progressed the wind continued to increase which made it hard to stay on some of the spots I really wanted to fish. We picked up a few fish here and there and continued to add to the total. We made our way back to our original spot in 18-20FOW which was the most protected. I made a late run at her in the count and our 50th fish hit the ice at 4:38. Didn't keep a fish under 11". All in all, it was a great day on the water spent with my daughter with lots of ribbing going on and memories made. The Waterloos were working double time yesterday and the trimmed up "Neapolitan" jig was definitely the ticket for her with my Light Blue Splash coming on strong in the end.

Good looking fish and jigs. What kind of snap locks are those that you have tied on your main line?

Great job! Good memories also. It sounds like you have taught her well! Nice jigs also. Did you tie
your own?

Thank You. They are Mustad Fastach clips. The size 0 are perfect for crappie. I really like them as it keeps me from having to tie loop knots. I usually start the day with them tied on that way I can switch jigs until I find what works for the day. If I end up having to break a jig off that has been working then I will retie using a loop knot. Sounds crazy but that is just the way I do it.

Thanks. I wish I could tie. I'm just not that talented. roflmao These were a custom color I had an individual tie for me and it has been "hot" on my home lake. It reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream.

Nope not crazy at all. I use a similar setup for my double jig rigs that way I can keep several sets pre tied and stored on a piece of pool noodle. Then I don’t have bare hooks hanging everywhere in my rod box and if I break one off I just grab another, hook it on the clip and am back to fishing in no time!!

Nice catch. Just wait when you get you MCM Tackle jigs in. They will be going out Monday. I am going to work on putting some hand ties together like you sent me. Right now I am working on getting all my combos ties so I can post pics of what I have to offer.

I think I am going to have to get me some of the mustads snaps. I hate having to retie all the time.

I can't wait to get them. They will definitely get used. You will like the clips.

Thank You, Chuck. We did have some decent fish in the box. Indeed it was. Doesn't get any better.

Sounds like a great outing with your daughter. clap

Try tying your jig to a 12-18" piece of fluorocarbon and a barrel swivel on the other end. It will keep the snap away from the jig head, easy to switch out and most importantly it keeps you from getting any line twist.

Thanks for the tip. I actually do it that way on my braid rigs. Here lately I have gravitated away from braid and have been using the reels with mono. Braid has it's purposes but when the wind is above 10mph I just have a tough time managing the wind knots and looping around the reel handle.
