Looking for nice home to rent on Sam Rayburn for Thanksgiving weekend for me and my wife 2 teenagers and my parents.
Not sure what part of the lake will fish the best that time of the year. I have seen several in Rayburn Country for rent just wondering how the fishing may be on that end of the lake as my Dad will be crappie fishing also.
Also what can I expect as far as boat traffic for that time year I know that's prime hunting time.

Thanks for any suggestions
Richard

Thanksgiving weekend can get some boat traffic but not bad as many are in the woods. South end is good fishing, and Rayburn Country has some nice places for rent, I have a place in Rayburn Country. Your closer to Jasper, if u do need anything. I usually drive to Mid lake areas, or to cassel boykins, takes about 30 t 40 minutes.

Last year for the Nation's State Championship, our club rented one of these houses and really liked it. Nice and spacious, clean, all that. It's close to Rayburn Country.

I can recommend a very nice place. Every bedroom has its own bathroom. HUGE living area/kitchen, and a garage that can fit 2 boats. Very Cheap for that lake and about 5 minutes from the twin dikes boat ramp So you are right down the road from the grocery store etc.. shoot me a PM if you want her number.

November is my favorite month to fish on Sam Rayburn. Fish are relating heavily to shad then so they aren't hard to find offshore and you can catch them however you like. The Trap bite will be strong then as well. That time of year, the whole lake should be fishing pretty good. A lot of it will depend on cold fronts and wind as that is when we start getting hit with inclement weather. They wont effect the fish as much then as it will what areas will be fishable because of the wind.

As mentioned, there are a lot of rental options around the Rayburn Country area as well as a few smaller cabin rentals around the 147 bridge midlake area.

I noticed you said “On” Sam Rayburn. There are only a couple places that are actually water front. Not sure if those will be rentals though. Just an FYI

Thanks for all the responses guys. I did find a place on VRBO it's around the corner from Jackson Hill Marina. Just wondering how that area fishes in November.
ETXfisher I sent you a PM.

May not be a big deal but I rented a nice house close to Jackson Hill. I had to go down a gravel road for a mile or two. Nice house, on the water, just had to travel down a gravel road if that matters. I found that was the norm on several rental homes I was looking at.

I've been renting a house thats about 20-25 minutes from Cassels Boykin. It has a covered area for your boat, outlet for charging, gas grill, 3 bedrooms, home is very nice and recently remodeled. Owners are super nice. PM if you want more info and I can send you the info.

We stayed here for the THSBA tournament.

This place is a little off the beaten path, but very very nice. 2 beds, but there are 3 beds in a small cabin out back (with a toilet). Perfect for teenagers.

Huntington and Zavalla are your closest towns, 20 minutes or so away.
