His performance in this years finals should be considered a definitive statement relative to what he really is.

He wasnt materially different vs. ever before...its just that doing it the way he did, on that stage, should end any GOAT discussion!

LeBron is just not likeable. He is supposed to be the greatest player in the world, yet on the biggest stage he is so easily rattled and basically quits if the challenge is too big. This isn't the first finals he was a flop. And to wear a cast to the press conference, like saying that was the reason your team lost, is so pedestrian.

He has as many finals losses as Jordan won. He went to 8 straight because the East is like playing college teams. He has had no competition in that conference for 10 years. Jordan failed early and when he learned to win, never looked back. I feel like LeBron still has no clue how to win unless he is bailed out by a Wade or Allen.

LeBron is not even #2 to me. Probably put Kobe up there as #2.

If averaging 34 points, 9 rebounds, 10 assists is quitting on your team then I'd take a quitter on my team any day.

Haters gonna hate, I wish LeBron would go to OKC.

He's a great player in my opinion. The whole "announcement" thing when he left Cleveland the first time was stupid. Really enjoyed watching Dallas spank that arse in 2011

With Lebron, it is all about the brand. LA or N.Y. are the only places for him to go and expand his brand and his wife and kids live and go to school in LA. If he can stomach the Ball circus in LA or force the Lakers to get rid of the Ball circus, Lebron will most likely be a Laker next year. But, then again, I could be wrong.

He can pad stats, but he is not mentally strong enough to take over the game when a superstar is supposed to take over a game. He is 3-6 in the Finals for a reason.

I liked Shaq's rant that he said "if any media person ever compared him as the GOAT over Jordan again in his presence that he was going to punch them and let the judicial system run its course for his action". roflmao

He is a phenomenal basketball players, one of the greatest of all time. His flaw seems to be he cant fit his team, his team has to try and fit around him. JR said it best "When you win Lebron gets all the praise, when you lose its all of us (supporting cast) that let him down" Jordan, and even Kobe, had an ability to get the best out of their players while fitting in with how their pieces played. Kobe had a decent break down of it as well, lebron isnt just playing with a bunch of trash like his fans claim, Hood was avg 17ppg in the west, Clarkson and Nance both played well on the lakers. Even Love is still a good offensive threat, and not to mention you have one of the most accurate 3pt shooters of all time in Kyle Korver. Lebron was just unable to extract the best out of these guys when they needed it most.

edit: But lets also acknowledge that he was probably playing one of, if not the, best team of all time. KD alone is probably 2/3 in the NBA and they also have curry/klay/draymond to play around him. That team was wayyyyy better on paper than the cavs, and obviously much better on the court

Very similar to Wilt Chamberlain.
Freakish athletes with superior physical skills.
Maybe not the best teammates or the most mentally tough.

LeBron is obviously more physically gifted than Jordan ever was; but MJ is the better basketball player.

LeBron is also a terrible GM.

If he's the GOAT, then what is Durant? OGOAT? AGOAT? NGOAT? (other/almost/nearly)?? Pretty close stats in the finals, especially if you adjust for minutes played.

44.7 min 34.0 pts 8.5 reb 10.0 asst 1.3 stl 1.0 blk .527 % .333 3PT% .842 FT%

41.3 min 28.8 pts 10.8 reb 7.5 asst 0.8 stl 2.3 blk .526 % .409 3PT% .963 FT%

Im done trying to compare the basketball careers of Lebron and Jordan until Lebron retires. Its impossible until we can compare final bodies of work. Lebron is the best player on the planet, and I find his personality and actions unbearable. He has never had a scandal, never been arrested or publicly cheated on his wife. He seems to be a decent human being. His on-court and basketball-related actions irk me. I found Jordan to be a much more likeable superstar. I dont think that part of my opinion will ever change.

there's at least 3 that are between Jordan and Lebomb . IMO

Kareem, Chamberlain, Malone

How can you be the GOAT when you can't even hit 3/4 of your free throws? James is allowed to walk all over the court.....He is a beast as far as size....but ..
