I fished a Fin S Fish (Lunker City) in my pond two days ago and immediately caught a crappie and a bass. Since the pond is weedy, I knew that a weedless hook would be the best way to go, so I attached a wire weed guard. Fish ate the lure anyway.

But one thing that I did different yesterday was rig the barb so that it came out the bottom rather than the top of the bait. The action was better and the lure didn't go up on its side nearly as much.

All told, a dozen bass was caught on the Fin S in heavy weeds near shore, in open water weeds, under branches along a steep shoreline and in the branches of a fallen tree.

I don't know what got into me breaking out the 4" Fin S lures after over 15 years not using them, but it may have something to do with me trying the 2.5" size Fin S on a light jighead along with many other small lure designs.

We used to fish worms on those hooks with weed guards when I was a kid.

I always rig my flukes with the hook coming through the slot on the bottom when I am fishing weightless.

Awesome, looks like you had a great day! Thanks for the tips.

You ever try nose hooking one with a larger size wide gap weedless octopus hook?(I know, not as weedless as the presentation you posted.)

I fish the Fin S Fish Texas rigged with a 2/0 Owner Rigging hook. It's tough to get it perfectly straight but well worth the hassle.

I've been looking for a way to rig the Fin-s shad weedless, but can't really find anything that keeps the lure action descent or straight enough. I'll try this next. Thanks.

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!
