Looking for a solid heavy duty measuring board at last 24”. Have a golden rule but want something a little more heavy duty. Thought about the kryptic Ego model. Thoughts?

For tournaments? If so, check with the tournament and see which is their official board and get that one. One can be slightly different than another escpecially if it could get a slight bend

Check It Stick and Pro Rule. Most trails and tourneys use one or the other, so I carry both.

Thought my metal one was great until my fishing buddy bent it by stepping on it.

Agreed.

If you’re going to fish tournaments you better have both of these because they measure fish differently.

Check it sticks are not consistent. A buddy had a fish that measured as an under on his check it board and measured over 16" on the tournament check it board. Tournament director even measured it as an under on my buddies board. Cost him over $9,000.

Talk to Texas Nameplate. Their boards are highly accurate and they can customize it with your name, logo anything you like. Here is a link.

They have 2 different kinds, a thin one and a thick one. The thin ones have been known to bend causing inaccuracies. Buy the heavy duty one. I picked one up years ago after being told by a Game Warden that's the official measuring stick they use.

Check-It is what fits my Skeeters holder. So that's what I use.

Many years ago I was a tackle rep and Check-It Stick was one of my lines. Mr. Bingham sent a personalized Check-It Stick to each of the Texas GW's with their names engraved on the board as a gift. That is why most GW's still carry a Check-It Stick.

I thought it was a pretty smart move. thumb

I carry both. They measure differently. I am just telling you the GW's carry Check IT Sticks.
