I'm getting lots of fish on the frog. I was at Athens yesterday and had lots fish on and landed only a few, any suggestions.
by the way, color didnt seem to matter (yellow, green, white all had strikes and fish on).

I used scum frog and not sure of the other brand but it was a bit bigger.

Losing fish frog fishing, is part of it. I'd recommend putting some spro frogs into your mix, I think they're by far the best. Also, when a fish strikes, wait a second or two before setting the hook, don't pull it away from them. Good luck.

Missing fish is common. Losing them is rare. Sounds like you have a tackle issue. What're you throwing it on

I have same problem. Lost so many I dont throw a frog anymore. I wait and do all that and stick and about the 2nd jump or so they spit it. Even used those trailer hooks for them and still wont stay on.

My guess is you are using underpowered equipment. If a fish eats a frog and you actually stick it there is almost no way to lose it.

heavy action rod, fast reel with heavy braid. When you get a bite reel down until you feel them and swing hard.

Also, and this help you tremendously. Take your needle nose and bend the hooks up or out just enough to clear the body of the frog. It won't take much and as mentioned above, count to three and hang on.

7'3"-7'6" Heavy, x-fast rod, 65# braid. After seeing some of the underwater footage that Tactical Bassin has put out, it amazes me how fast a bait can go in and out of a fish's mouth, I don't count to three. When I see the frog disappear, I swing as hard as I can. It is more like 1-2 seconds to know if they got it.

All as mentioned above, I also bent the double hooks up just to enough to clear the body of a hollow belly. You'll be amazed how many fish you may have lost stay on..

Heavy rod with braid. I like the Booyah Padcrusher. Keep your rod tip up on the retrieve. Once a blow up occurs, wait one second and make a gradual pull to make sure they are there. Then lay into them. I dont recall losing a fish once they are hooked.

These fish most likely arent eating it, just slapping st it, which can happen this time of year.

Change colors, or presentation when that happens.

Switch to a better frog. If you're using the original scum frog, it had horrible hooks

Lots of good frog baits out there. I mainly use the Academy H2O frogs in black and yellow and will trim the leg/ streamers down to 1 1/4" inches that helps with some of the short strikers thrown on a heavy action 7" rod, revo winch spooled with 30+ pound braid. Cadence and retrieve come into play as well and when you feel the fish, set the hook. peep
