How would I figure out what size my live well is in gallons?
It is an older boat, factory doesn't know.
Is there a way to measure and figure it, or formula to determine what size it is?

Thanks
Curtis B

Get a 1 gallon milk jug. Fill with water pour in livewell. Repeat filling and pouring until full.
Might remember to count the number of gallons it takes.

I bet I could figure it out with a five gallon bucket.

I think this is it:
Length x Width x Depth x .0043

Put your hose in a five gallon bucket. Time how long it takes to fill up the bucket. Get gallons per minute. Throw hose in livewell and time how long it takes to fill it up. Do some figurin.

Volume in cubic feet x 7.48 = gallons of livewell capacity (or gallons of anything for that matter)

Per google...

Quote:
Use the following formula to determine the water capacity of your square or rectangular livewell. Using a measuring device (tape or ruler), multiply length times width times height of water in livewell (all in feet) times the constant 7.5. The result will be in gallons.
