I have a 2001 Fish Master bay boat with folding seats on the back that are flush with the back deck when down. It looks like at one point there was a piece of vinyl with snaps that held those seats down but that is long gone now. While hauling the boat around those seats flip up in the wind and I need a way to secure them down. I was looking at the yeti coolers and was wondering if I can use a T handle rubber latch like that to hold those seats down. Does anyone have any recommendations? I was worried about people scratching their legs on the receiver of the latch when they were undone, is that a legitimate concern?

Also these seats had a metal wire on each side of them that kept them from flipping too far back but the force from them being flung open has broken those wires. The wire is about a foot long and has eye holes at the ends for screwing them into the seat. Is this a common part that I can buy to replace or make my own? The eyes are about the same size as the ones you would used to connect a wire to a battery but they appear to be stainless steel and much heavier duty and the wire is pretty flexible with a rubber coating over it like electrical wire but it also appears to be stainless steel.

Thanks for the help.

Buy some vinyl strap material. I got extra for my Ranger when I redid the seats and then get yourself a snap kit with the punch.
