We had a great time this weekend on the lakes fishing and catching lots of LMB. Even though, as you know it was hot! It's been awhile since I was able to get out on the lakes in a boat, and we had lots of fun, even if there was lots of boat traffic. But here's my rant. We went two different lakes two different ramps with lots of boat traffic going in and out of the water. I couldn't believe the folks swimming at the boat ramp. Yeah I've done this before, but maybe seen one or two boats all day. On these days it was a steady stream of boats. Yesterday at dark thirty we came in only find a bigger crowd yet. Lots of young folks. but some older and some younger. I gotta say I was so afraid of someone getting into a propeller. Anyway sorry for the rant you guys be safe out there.

Launced at Black Brush last year on Amistad. Pulled up to launch and there were about a dozen people swimming, adults and kids.

When they saw us headed to launch they all swam to dock and just held on.

So now I have to try to tie up to a dock that is surrounded by people in the water.

Nothing surprises me anymore.

Bank fishermen can be just as bad as, if not worse than, swimmers. They will fish from the dock (and even sit under the "No Fishing From Dock" sign), cast across the launch ramp, set two or three poles along the bank where everyone beaches their boat (Athens and Cedar Creek), throw their cans, bottles and empty bait cups up on the bank then leave them...you get the picture. Went to tie up at the courtesy dock one time at Cedar Creek, some kid (teenager or early 20's) was fishing from the dock. He said, "Hey watch it! I got fish tied up there!". My answer was, "Move 'em or lose 'em". He was gone when I got back

They problem for me when they swim at the ramp and you want to use it they think you are in the wrong. They look at you like your crazy for wanting to launch your boat at the boat ramp.

It's busier than normal, because folks finally get out the lake, in boats, that normally don't go to the lake, in boats.

As for folks swimming on a ramp.....they move....trust me in this one.

Does the fact that there is a concrete ramp below somehow make the swimming better? I'm wondering why they have to be on the ramp instead of off the grass or sand 50 feet away.

If they want concrete under their feet they need to go to a swimming pool.

I just tell them to get outta the way or they could get hurt real bad by the boat or prop. They will usually move but there have been times that they stay and I just run in on them. Then they move. I don't show any temper, just may SMH a little. They seem to get it at that point. Most of the time I do not have to tell them whose got the right of way.
