Looking at tying some perch jigs. What are the best color combos everyone has had luck with?

Also is there a rod/reel combo that will cast a 1/64 hand tied jig?

There are several anglers who make and use their own jigs. Hopefully some of them will reply. For sunfish I mainly use live worms. However when I use jigs for Crappie I usually catch some very nice Bluegill,Redbreast, and Redear. Chartreuse/Black seem for me to get the best results year around and on different water bodies. As for the combos there are many with different prices. I mainly use the Shakespeare Ugly Stick Combo for Sunfish and Crappie. I use a 1/16 Jig head and that is the lightest I use. I do not use a 1/64. thumb

Side Note: You should get some pretty good feed back. Lots of good anglers who know way more than me when it comes to jigs and combo sets post here. cheers

Black / Chartreuse and all yellow. 1/32 ounce is the lightest I have thrown with conventional gear. No problem throwing the 1/64 with my fly rod though.

Chartreuse/black soft plastics and crank baits are "SUPER"! As for the 1/64 jig I do not use that light of a bait on my ultralight. Like stated by J-Moe I have no problem throwing a 1/64 with my fly rod.

Chartreuse/Black seem to be the colors that work just about anywhere. As far as rod/reel combos go to Bass Pro or Acadamey. They have a great selection of ultralight combos.
