Cedar Creek is on fire ! Started the day at 6:30, I wanted to try the Crappie early, it seems to be better in the a.m. Crappie were in 15 to 18 FOW. Stacked on brush, main lake, 1/6 gray jigs, 6lb test. Casting and watching the line jump, was the ticket of the day for a nice limit of Crappie. Dead sticking was good for a few fish. I wanted to try the sand bass , I went to the main lake hump, the locator was showing a few fish in 21 FOW, so I turned on the Thumper and started catching a few sand bass. As I got out to 24 to 26 FOW the locator was almost black with sand bass. With the Thumper running, I picked up the #4 Mepps and dropped it straight to the bottom. Once the Mepps was on the bottom, I would turn the reel handle no more than 3 turns, if I didn't have a fish on at three turns. I would let the Mepps fall back to the bottom. And some times I could slow roll the Mepps back to the boat and catch fish, most of the fish would bite at three turns. Vertical fishing with the Mepps put a limit of sand bass in the boat. The Mepps is one of the most versatile baits I have ever used, Thank You, Dennis Christian, I am a believer ! It's been another Great day on CC, it's time to go, to the house. Take a kid fishing ! LOL

I have a 10 year old grandson that likes to flip water bottles filled with water in the boat when we are fishing ...He gets bored real quick if he is not catching fish. So I guess the Thumper falls along the same type of Thump ! Thump ! Thump ! To Funny ! Being remote controlled, I do have the ability to turn off the Thumper. There is not a off / On switch with a 10 year old !!!!!!!!!!

Good report! I went out for a couple of hours this afternoon and first checked Long Ridge. It had fish on the middle part in 22 fow and on the east end in 27 fow. Caught em like 4X4 said with #4 Mepps straight up from the bottom or casting and reeling back along the bottom. No thumping needed today. Also found fish at north end of Key Ranch Drop-off in 14 fow and on Mid-lake Hump - all over it from 22 to 26 fow.
