Fished the Sabine River above and below the City Ramp on Tuesday, 5/22/18, targeting bass. It was a grind because of totally unfavorable tide, no current, and the heat. Still able to boat 28 bass up to 3-1/2 lb on worms, cranks, and top water. No big fish this trip, but they are there! Schoolies bit a chugger all day long, but they were generally smaller size.
Water color was just OK, but should get progressively better as summer comes on. Water temp got up to 88 deg!
I saw lots of Elites scouting for the upcoming Bassmaster tournament. It should be interesting seeing if they can find those bigger fish we have been seeing come in this past year.
