Now that I have the new ultrex 52" ! I'm having trouble mounting up new one in the same location as my old minn kota maxxum pro. The mounting pad takes up more room than the old one, which causes a bit of a problem especially with the area being recessed about 3/4" of an inch. It look as though I may have to use a thick rubber pad to form it up high enough to clear the front trim switches. Please give me any suggestion to help me mount it up safely and securely. I have a 08' Bass Cat Cougar elite !

Get a Minn Kota mounting plate. It allows a wide variety of mounting postions.

I had the same problem. I bought a couple of those plastic cutting boards and cut them to fit under the mount. Works great. Just find some that are high density polypropylene. You can also just order some of that material direct if you want.
