Let me know what you think guys, trying to decide my next move. If you were looking at two motors both with a new powerhead and one was a factory Yamaha Powerhead and the other was a "Rebuilt to Yamaha specifications" Powerhead, would those 2 hold different values to you?

Depends on who rebuilt the other one.
Also, which one comes with a longer warranty?
If warranty work needs to be done, which will be more convenient to have work completed.

I'd go with the Yamaha in case there are warrantees that comes with it. But a really good mechanic can do as good a job as having a Yamaha head.

The only risk is if the mechanic is not good. Yamaha is more of a known entity; therefore, your risk is a little more known.

One 10-pounder is better than ten 1-pounders; but 100 1-pounders is ok too!

go with Yamaha if there is extra that you pay it will be worth it in the long run.
