Last trip to Fayette til fall was a good one. Water temp now over 90 degrees & full pool. Fished 7:30 am - 8:00 pm. Ended up with 1 gar, 1 cat (6.8 lbs.

), 7 red ear, 6 bluegill & 27 bass. No big bass, but several in the 2-3 lb. range. Bass & cat caught on 7.5 inch Culprit worms & bluegill/red ear on night crawlers. Biggest red ear was 1 lb. 2 oz. and just under the lake record. Didn't weigh the biggest bluegill (in photo) but probably would have beat Bankers lake record. Back to Dunlap next week.

Great looking fish Vogey! Next time you get a HOG like that "CALL ME"! I will have the scale waiting! thumb

Side Note: If that fish was 10" or over you could have gotten a Catch&Release Record. hmmm

Chuck...thanks for the offer, but seems like way too much hassle...on the other hand, the catch & release record sounds appealing & may look into that in the future...

For me it is no hassle at all. I enjoy weighing possible record fish and get called a lot to do so. Love seeing anglers reactions getting a record fish. I fish with several friends of mine who could care less on records and simply enjoy fishing without the hassles of finding a certified scale, getting the fish weighed, taking pictures, and filling out an application as well as sending it in. I can see both sides of the angler who wants to get a record and the angler who does not. The common denominator is that both love fishing and being in the outdoors. Hope to see you on the water one of these days! thumb

You guys caught some super fish Vogey. Good job guys. woot

Side Note: Plan on fishing Fayette several times during the summer. Wake Boat traffic is starting to pick up on Mcqueeney and Dunlap! Would suggest fishing both lakes between sun-up and 10am. eeks
