We're looking for a lake to go to for a 3-day weekend. We really like lakes with vegetation. Other than Bastrop and Caddo, what other lakes have some good growth?

Try Walter E. Long (Decker Lake) near Austin. Its a power plant lake, not sure of the size, but fairly small. Me personally I think it has too much grass, but of course someone will tell me to learn to fish grass.

Thanks for all of the responses. We have been to Decker, Big Sam, and Toledo Bend many times, so for this trip, they are out. We have never been to Welsh. We have wanted to go but from what we've heard, the lake is at it's best in colder weather. Therefore, there are an abundance of "small club tournaments". We'll see.
