Sometimes at the top in between the shaft to the ram and the seal, it leaks a little bit.

How hard of a job is it to get the cylinder cap off and replace those seals?

Can I do this while leaving the whole unit on the boat? Or do I have to remove the entire tilt and trim assembly.

Main problem is removing the piston in the cylinder so the rod will come out. Special tool for the cap.

Will a spanner wrench do the job getting the cap off?

Could I just trim motor all the way up, drop the metal bracket that holds motor up, take out ram pin and bump out the rod that holds ram to motor, then unscrew the cap and lift ram up and out of cylinder?

Then I could replace the leaking seal?

Any and all help would be appreciate...thanks!
