Do y'all have success throwing bluegill swimbaits during the bluegill spawn or after?

I have a big, hinged bluegill swim bait. I've used it a few times with mixed results. So...I'm gonna see what the pros have to say.
Eat. Sleep. Fish.

Yes! Budget bait - Savage Gear. Med price - Smashtech line through. Expensive but awesome - Mattlures Hardgill!
Less gritchin', more fishin'

Mattlures, both the soft Ultimate Bluegill and the Hardgill versions, are two of the most productive baits I throw. Those baits have produced several large bass for me so I have at least one version tied on every virtually every trip.

They were crushing a Megabass Magdraft yesterday in the ayu color with just a small amount of the tail dipped in chartreuse. The 5 and 6" versions were working especially after I dipped the tail to mimic the bluegill I was seeing.

Anyplace a gill or shad can swim will be a good place to try one.
