I hate asking questions like this but any suggestions on the best crank bait/topwater rod out there? G Loomis, Phenix, Megabass?

Thanks

I like the Dobyns crankin' rod over all others. I've got G. Loomis, St. Croix and Kistlers as well but prefer the Dobyns. Just my opinion.

I guess I should specify small crank baits. I have a 2 Dobyns 805 for my large crank baits and do like those.

I don't think you need to get a high end crank bait rod. There are graphite cranking rods, a blend of glass and graphite and all glass.

Ones I have and like are the Powell Max 3D composite 705. I use it for top water baits and square bill crank baits.
Duckett micro magic in a 7ft 6in and a 7ft 11in. I use these for medium and deep divers.
Loomis 7ft crank bait rod.

I have a lot of Dobyns rods but not any of the cranking rods but many people seem to like them quite a bit.

I know some people don't like the E6X series from Loomis, I fish primarily GLX/IMX so maybe I'm partial to them but I have the E6x cranking rod and absolutely love it for small/medium cranks. You have just the right amount of power to stick em and it has just the right amount of tip to let them tire out.

Dobyns also has a medium/light CB rod in the same series. 764 CB RM that is the BOMB for small to medium depth CBs. First rod I got from them and IT IS NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At least, in my opinion, it is the best shallow to medium CB rod out there. Here is the link:

Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and ordered another Dobyns and want to figure out what else to throw. I don't throw a lot of smaller crank baits but that's about to change.

Thanks again

I throw the 705 CBRM Glass rod from Dobyns for square bills and DT6 and DT10 style crank baits. I love it

The "Best" one is the one that does the job you bought it to do and it is a joy to fish and does not make you want to put it down. The "Best" one for you may cost you $100 and $500 to the next person. The "Best" one will differ from person to person! JMHO
