Hi Fellow Bass Fisherman! I am downsizing to min of 18 foot glass boat. The Triton 186 looks like a solid option. I am looking in the 2000 a 2005 year range. What you guys think. Does ranger back the hulls still if issues. I think 100% glass no wood. I appreciate any feedback. Good or bad.

I just sold my Tr 186 that I owned for 8 years. Great little boat but not the best in the rough stuff. It will do everything you need in a bass boat for sure, just take her easy in the 3+ footers. Mine was an 07 with a 150 Optimax and topped out at 60 mph.

To be fair, you have to take it easy in the 3+ footers in a Boston Whaler.

I had one, they're great boats. I think there is a restriction on the warranty for the second owner, but I don't remember what exactly it is. You can look it up on the Triton website I imagine.

My Boat is a 2004 Triton 186. I fish deep water more than shallow, its perfect for one person, 2 people isnt bad. I fish alone most of the time, I like mine so much I was thinking about putting a new motor on it and restoring it completely one of these days instead of buying a newer boat.

True, it just doesnt handle rough stuff like bigger boats which is not surprising. Overall I was very happy with it. Time will tell if I like my new Skeeter that much more.

I have a 2009 18X3. Little wider hull with a 150 so a little slower but pretty stable in the chop. Back deck is where I would want a longer one with a backseater. I have enjoyed it.

I had a 2001, if I remember correctly, the only way you get warranty is if you are the second buyer and the pay is less than 10 years old.

Good boat, speed is on par with bigger boats, and it is maneuverable. Feather the throttle when coming off of plane...

i had a 2010 tr186 --was a great boat ! it was a little bit of a handful to drive on the big end --but all tritons are

the only problem was that back seat guy has to pay attention --there is no lip in the back and if you dont pay attention you will walk right outta the boat !

Most 186 are great boats. Nimble and great fishing platforms. They do lack the speed but can bet you where you want to go and can go a lot of places that the big ones cant. Im probably going to sell mine soon as I have 2 boys 6 and 3 and will need more room lol. But when they get to the age they can get their own boat I may downsize again... may lol

I've got an 07 tr186 that I bought new. Have not had any problems with it all. It is a little rough riding in rougher water and when coming off plane do it slowly or the water will wash up on back deck

I purchased my 2005 tr186 in 2010. Love it, does everything I could want. Dont have any plans of changing boats.

I've had my 01 Tr186 since new upgraded electronics twice and trolling motor once. Like everyone else says it does ok up to 3 foot rollers anything bigger take it slow. Defiantly have a jack plate. With me and a partner full fuel tourney load live well 3/4 full have hit 61-62 GPS. I fish with the wife mostly now as we've raised 3 kids with it and they are off on their own. Never let me down still as pretty to me as it was the day I picked it up.

I had a 2003 tr186......I would have never got ride of it if it was single console.....that passenger console made things get a little tight....but we fished 3 out of it all the time because my son wanted to bring a friend....just gotta be super careful. Ran about 57-59 with a Merc150 efi

Loved it so much I went To the TRX21 with a single console....looks like the deck of an aircraft carrier smile
