I live near Lake Lavon, but cannot say I have had a good day only poor trips.
I grew up fishing Toledo Bend so I am looking to learn another lake.

Are you fishing for bass or other fishes? I live very near Lavon too. Fish weekdays too. I don't know anything about Lewisville, but Lavon is an excellent lake for Sandies, Blue Cats and Crappie (at least so I've seen and heard, I am not a crappie fisherman much). I fish both myself and with two guides who have helped me learn a lot. Tex Elliott for the Cats and Carey Thorn, who is a terrific guide for the other species. Carey catches toms of sandies and crappie in Lavon but he fishes for bass some too. He says Lavon is underrated as a bass lake and I've seen reports of him doing well on them there.

I'm like you, I fish for what I can catch at the time. Let me know if you ever want to split a trip with him. Or just want to try Lavon and see what we find.

I have have had interest in taking a trip with Thorn but have not gotten around to it. Heard nothing but good things about him.
