Was catching a few in Denton creek a few days ago, the creek seemed too clear for me, do you think this rain will cause more crappie to come up the creek to spawn or do you fell the spawn is about over for the creeks ?

Creek crappie seems to really go downhill about mid May from my experience.

My experience on Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn has been, when the surface temperature is below 80 degrees they are on shallower flats and in the creeks. once it warms above 80 degrees I move to my brush piles in 26' to 32' of water. Of course if you have piles in the deeper water in those same creeks, they will move there. For instance, last weekend on Toledo, the surface temperature on the main lake was 75 degrees and the fish were in 10' to 12' of water. With the high temperatures this week the surface is warming and the fish are moving out to deeper water. Don't get me wrong, there are still some stragglers/late spawners out there and can be caught in shallower water(less than 10'). I am speaking about the majority of the fish. Like a lot of the guys will tell you, every lake is different. Shallow lakes and reservoirs house fish in the depth available to the fish. I am speaking about deeper lakes like Toledo Bend/Sam Rayburn, and lakes that have 30' plus water.

Yea, time to ease on back out to main lake cover...they can still be found shallow, thought...
