Tow vehicle?

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Don't buy anything with square headlights.

Also, what is your price range? I have a mint 83 CJ-7 I've thought about selling. All original except, wheels, tires, bumpers, paint.

I have a 2010 4 door Islander. I use it to pull my 95 procraft 220. Not many boats are heavier than my ol beast. It does fine for local fishing. No problems at all on the ramp. It sucks on the highway though, 8 mpg on 18 gal tank may get me to the Monti ramp, but not back to the gas station.

If you have kids do NOT buy a 2-door. Too small, too harsh a ride, horrible gas mileage. Just to name a few negatives. I've owned one.

The driving force and secret desire of every bass fisherman, is to one day be a crappie fisherman............Could it be that the good Lord just smilies and looks the other way when a fisherman tells a lie?

A few years back the wife just had to have a Jeep. We got her a new 4 door one she wanted and after about 2 months the new wore off and she hardly drove it. She drove her company car most of the time. The Jeep just was not a great daily driver. Personally I thought it was way overhyped. I did not care for it at all. I drove it a few times and thought it was not for me.

We kept it 3 years and I bet did not put 20,000 miles on it if that. I was stunned when we sold it as we literally lost nothing on it. They for sure hold their value. I was expecting to get hosed on the value but was surprised and happy we got our money back.

Never again is all I will say. Just not for us.

I have a 2004 wrangler that I cannot bring myself to sell. Not sure why but one day I'll decide to sell it, the next I start thinking of all the cool mods I could do (but won't) and talk myself out of selling it. Youngest starts college next fall out of state so I'm sure that is when it will be sold.

I'm not too concerned about towing with it, I had a 4x4 grand cherokee with the straight six at one time, so I have an idea of its limits, both going and slowing... Most likely it would be the one being towed. And it wouldn't be a daily driver, more of a weekend rig to toodle over to a friends house for a cookout or something.

Thought about a jp also , overpriced , lots of maintenance/repairs , supply and demand = holds value . Wife wants one , looking for a Willys to play around with now , if going in that direction might as well make it unique.

I got into an accident a couple of years ago and hit a Jeep Wrangler (He ran a red light so....yeah). My car had the front bumper nearly torn off and plenty of other damage. The only mark the Wrangler had on it was a scuff on the tire. They are tough.

On a semi-related note, I recently checked out new Jeep Wranglers and the prices blew my mind. I had no idea that were so expensive. Sticker shock is likely to keep me in cheap vehicles for the rest of my life.

We have a 2008 four door Wrangler Unlimited. It's my wife's daily driver and we tow it behind our motorhome when we travel. It's been one of the most dependable vehicles I have ever owned. \Got over 91000 miles on it and not a bit of trouble. Other than normal maintenance, not a bit of trouble.

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

There are a lot of Jeep Clubs online so check them out. You're sure to find someone selling their baby to get a newer one
