Going to be taking a trip down falcon In a few weeks. Never been there before. Any tips? Saw the lake is 30 feet down. Is that normal for this lake or is it difficult to catch fish with it so low. Been doing alot of research on falcon but can't seem to find the info I'm looking for. Thanks in advance

Pretty typical level. Call James at falcon lake tackle. He can tell you anything you want to know about the lake

What kind of research have you been doing? It is pretty simple down here.. Come and throw what you like to throw and you will catch fish..
Rocks are the secret.. Well that ain't true.. It ain't no secret..
Points, ledges.. Oh yeah and points..
The fish aren't on every point.. But they're on a lot of em.. We have plenty of water and have stabilized for the meanwhile.. Great numbers of fish are being caught.. When the wind will let you fish.. It is your biggest enemy this time of year..
Holler at me if I can help you..

Awesome. Thanks guys. I've been researching about the water level. I guess it is normal for it to be that low. Just didn't want to drive all the way down there and the fishing suck because of water level.

Water level is not at all uncommon.. Come on down.. Stop by and I'll tell you of any hazards.. But right now we are good..

I wouldn't worry about the water level, there is no 'normal' its all over the place year to year.

Falcon and Amistad both fluctuate + or - 50', all the time. The man said it was "stable", that is important to establishing a pattern, over a couple days fishing.

always stayed at oso blanca motel...ask for one of the rooms up facing the highway.....plenty of room to leave your boat hooked up and electrical receptacles handy for battery charging.....large rooms with a kitchenette.....

I was down there in Feb and stayed at the Best Western and had no problems with it. If going with multiple people there are a couple places that rent cabins or trailers that might be better and they were about same price per night. Sorry I don't recall the info to contact them.

I either stay at the Holiday Inn or in trailer that Bassman's Lodging provides. Raul Perez runs Bassman's Lodging and he's on the TFF too.
