Can anybody suggest options for gar tackle? Reel, line, rods, and any accessories that might be useful. I'm planning on giving them a go on the Trinity in the near future and don't have anything that can handle a dinosaur in my arsenal. Thanks in advance.

I've been looking up a bit of info for this purpose as well, I'll share what I've found so far. I find that it's sometimes easier to look at a video of someone fishing for gar and observe as there aren't too many tutorial videos out there.

How to Rig Up to Catch Monster Alligator Gar

New to angling. Catch and release. The dream - to catch at least one of every species in our great state (if I can manage to resist carp)!
