Caught a decent size bass on Lewisville last Thursday out deep. Yesterday I caught another one that looks really similar up shallow about a mile away.

Between the bottom of the tail and the small sized dorsal fin, I think it might be the same fish.

Spent several minutes comparing the two pictures, and in my opinion, no. Talk about a needle in a haystack.

The tail looks very similar. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same fish. A lot of people would be surprised how much fish move.

The dorsal fin is more of note, in my opinion, cause a lot of females have beat up tails from spawning. I know it's hard to tell in the first pic with my hideous neon shirt, but both dorsal fins have 4 spines.

I definitely don't see anything different between the two pics other than color but the fish would get darker going up shallow. I say it is the same fish

Glad I caught her again and not the guy in the boat next to me who told me it would be about 7 pounds of fillets then. Hopefully she swam back out deep away from that guy looking to put her in some grease.

What depth was she at deep vs when caught shallow? Looks like the same fish to me. Coloration can change quick!

Blowing both those pics up, and trying to find specific matching traits, it very much looks like the same fish to me.

When she was caught "deep" she was in about 10-12 feet of water. When she was up shallow she right close to the bank. My bird said I was in 2-3 feet, so she was probably around 2 feet or so.

That guy would limit out on every species he could, by the looks of it. I'm like 90% certain that he took his boat out of the water and emptied his livewell and put his boat back in to fish for more.

the pectoral fins look like they are shaped differently between the 2 photos, not sure if that is because they are different fish or the same fish being held a different way.

also the belly appears to be a little larger in the first photo than the 2nd. The fish's belly i mean, yours looks the same size in both grin
