It has been a strange year with all the cool rains this spring. I figured the fish had spawned and moved back out so I gave it a try this weekend, Caught my limit in about 3 hours. I was surprised to find several still had eggs, even caught a couple of green sun fish with eggs in the. 15' deep on the brush

It happens quite often. A good amount of fish won't spawn and will retain their eggs especially on weird years like this one. Caught a limit on Friday and half had eggs that looked like they were being reabsorbed (very pale and egg sacks were small).

It has been a strange year, indeed...I caught almost a limit yesterday morning...one came from10 FOW, two came from 5, and the remainder came from 2 or less...I started out looking deep, ended up on the bank, go figure...

I caught a lot of bigger fish on brush in 12-15 ft full of eggs last year in may. I caught a few yesterday when I was out scouting out spots at my local lake. lost a giant at the boat that was fat.

My experience (what little that is) has show'n me the fish don't all spawn at the same time but in waves..... mother nature's way of ensuring a successful spawn every year.... the fish has been all over the depths 3 months on my lake... although I don't ever beat the banks for'um there has been folks catching them very shalla and I've been catchn'um out to 12ft.....

Crappie are fractional spawners. The female does not lay all of her eggs at one time. She will make 2-3 trips shallow to lay her eggs in 2-3 days depending on several factors. Some females will not lay 100% of her eggs.

I cleaned white bass, catfish and crappie from Palestine on Saturday and some of all of 3 had eggs.

that is why we should consider the span more of a PROCESS, than an EVENT, says the wise !
COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
