Biggest aluminum
I dont need the speed of a glass boat
I can repair aluminum quicker/cheaper/faster/better than I can repair gelcoat
With an Ultrexx or similar TM, some of the other advantages of glass boats are minimized
Family of four fishing from the largest aluminum would be doablenot so practical in the 18footer

I run an 18 nitro & really like it. Tin boats tend to get bad wind drift while fishing.

I've fished aluminum for 40 years.
Just bought my first glass boat yesterday.
Damn hard question... You'll blow around more in the aluminum....no doubt.
But lower operating costs is a plus.
Meet me at Athens one of these nights and we'll figure it out.

Shallow water, nice days, light duty tow rig, cost, Aluminum all the way
windy days, big open water, tournament load, have the money, Glass is nicer and the way to go

there are times when I prefer one over the other but at the end of the day My 18' Nitro has been through a lot and never had any issues
also if your fishing stumpy areas it is easier to get the aluminum boat stuck.. the glass is more rigid.. however on the flip side the glass is much more expensive to repair if it does damage the hull

thanks for the help guys. Only thing is nitro dealership told me 150 will only push a z18 in the 50s. I asked if he could get me a 175 or 200 put on but he said no. I may have to wait till 2019s come out or get z19

true. 150 on that hull is just not enough. I have a friend with a 2018 Z18 and the 175. It tops out at 62 on my GPS. Rides pretty good though. Sit up high in those boats. It's comfortable.
