It was disgusting to look at, but the fish seemed to fight excessively hard, so it wasnít too sick.

From the bite marks I would guess Alligator just because of the width of the bite on the back and then narrows like a snout toward the stomach, or maybe a really big Gar.

Well it canít be a gar because the TFF experts have said many times that gar donít eat bass. hammer
It could be a comorant, plenty of those around. I was thinking maybe it was some kind of bacteria infection or something. The fish was blind in its other eye, reminds me of the ďdog named luckyĒ joke. (If you donít remember that, youíre prob young).
