Headed to Ivie this weekend for the first time. My girlfriend overheard me talking about wanting to fish it. So she got us a place there this weekend for my birthday but she didn't know it was 40ft low. We plan on launching at Concho Park Marina. Is the ramp there still useable? Water temps? Are they spawning or post spawn? Thanks for the help

Don't launch at Concho. Put in at Elm Creek. Stay there too if you can. Say hi to Jerry.

Heads up, theres a tournament there this weekend. Probably one of the few open tournaments on that lake this year. Probably going to be lots of boat traffic. Be careful out there!

We aren't getting there tell Sunday morning and staying through Monday night. Thanks for the help guys. Are they still spawning? Also how hard is it to run the lake? There's boat lanes on the main lake right?

No boat lanes, stay in the river Chanel, main lake is clear to run but if in doubt take it easy and idle, it's not rocket science. It's hit or miss, fishing was fairly tough today. If you want easy unloading and safe areas to run unload at Elm Creek and by far the best food.

Should be some spawners down south. Won't be able to see them if the wind blows. Lake is fishing small because well... it is small right now. There are fish to be caught but it isn't easy. Fished 2 solid days and caught 21 on 8 different lures. Best 5 around 20. Best pattern was not spawning bass.

Like gillom said, the lake is small and fishing small and dropping. After looking at it today it has dropped since last Thursday, we need a big rain in a bad way.

That is because the spawn is over, done, gone, finished. It is time to turn to the forks of the river trees with the Wag Tail Worm. There may be a couple of 10's that are late and using the forks.

I may be wrong. With all the wind, waves, sorry weather, fish scattering everywhere, murky river water; it makes it hard to tell. For many, many years I would keep saying as soon as we get 3 days in a row of good stable weather it is going to take place. Those days came and went and they never showed up. A few spawn here and a few spawned over there. The first thing you know it is over and we missed it some how. Now don't get me wrong, I have had my good times during the spawn on some wonderful spots. Then next year they never showed up.
I just wish I had the incentive to try to keep up with them like I use to.

Good fishing 21xs Elite. I hope those big fish show up in all your spots. Keep us posted.

Fish around here are still spawning. I got into a big wave moving up on Sunday. They werent there in the morning but once the sun came up and got warm its like a switch flipped. We are running a little later this year out west. Had some spawn early and then a bunch putting it off until now.

Water temps at Elm Creek three weeks ago were 59-63. And that was before the Sunday we had almost 24 hours right at freezing.
