Looking for a Jon boat that can handle 1 adult, 1 teen (110 lbs) and two 7 year old kids. Mainly need something that can scoot us from point A to point B safely so we can fish. Craigslist has been difficult to say the least. I am thinking a 14' would be the way to go, but wide. Please let me know if you are aware of anything available.

The top of my budget is $2,000

14 ft would be over loaded with that amount of weight. I would go with a 16ft boat, wider the better. Finding hulls w/o motor or trailer is hard to do, especially in the 14/16ft range, mainly because it is hard to transport a boat that long in the bed of a pick up.

I would definitely go with at least a 16' for 4 people and gear.
