I have a 5th wheel we use at least once a month and I also have two fishing kayaks for my son and I. For the life of my I cannot find a way to bring the Kayaks that don't involve some custom rack that costs over $1000.
Anyone have any ideas?

I would recommend making a rack to store them on the back or top of your fifth wheel.

Can be easily done. A "bed extender" like Harbor Freight sells, turned upright, instead of horizontal. Buy a receiver hitch mount( about $18.00), that bolts under the front bumper of your tow truck. Put a car-top type carrier across your truck roof. May have to widen the bed extender if you carry two yaks. The front support holds the front of the yaks, the rears on the roof of the truck. I've seen several fifth rigs like this. Yaks are forward of the fifth wheel trailer, over the truck hood. Better than carrying them on the trailer. IslandJim

I would find a local welder/fabricator and show him those rv kayak racks and tell him you want one for less than $1000. Bet they can make you something like it for less than that.
