Maybe, a Japan issue. Hang on to the old ones.

maybe they realized that if they sold them at a price that is more in alignment with the market, and closer to what they are actually worth they'd sell more and not have to hassle with discounting them several times a year to move them off the shelf?
I think lucky craft makes good baits, but so do a lot of others, you can buy a pretty dang good squarebill for 5 or 6 bucks.
Now, jerkbaits, that's a little different story because how well balanced they need to be, for different water temps etc...pulling out some extra bills for a pointer or vision 110 is worth it.

I heard they passed along production cost savings onto the consumer

Not sure if they are exactly the same, but they have always been a great crankbait. I think they lost a lot of market share and brought their prices back in line. Love the baits

Totally different bait now. Academy brand baits are better then the new ones.

The baits are the same as always. LC isnt paying a big royalty to a pro like Rick Clunn on them. They most definitely are better baits than Academy brand. I have never knocked a bill off an LC including the new ones and the bills come off the Academy baits easy.
