Got on the water around 4:00 pm and fished until dark. Fished mainly swimbaits as they didn't want a fluke or frog today. Caught 4 to 3.75.

Nice results!
I pass over the bridge going into Chandler on the north end of the lake quite often, boat ramp there, too, and it looks so danged "fishy" with the old bridge off to one side, standing timber, stumps. They claim many boats stay south toward the dam to avoid the "mess" on the north with fewer clear boat lanes for all but the experienced. But that the north end has lots of really nice bass. I need to try this soon. It would seem to be a kayak angler's paradise.
Oh! When I was driving home from Naconiche last Saturday, I passed over a nice sized river's bridge, looked down at the river, and thought about where I was and said to my nephew that it must be the Neches on the south side of Lake Palestine. He craned his head around to see the sign after we passed over the bridge, sure enough, Neches River. I'm not sure I'd want to park and leave my vehicle there nor do I know where one might pull out down river, but that looked like a really nice stretch of river water to fish from a kayak.

Brad I put in there two days ago to stay out of the wind. There was a dude living out of truck under there last year. You definitely want to be out of there before dark as you can tell there is some serious dranking going on at times.
