Does it matter? I've used clear mono, green mono, braid, even that red cajun line all with equal success or lack thereof
My favorite line ever was this eagle claw line I had back in the 90s that had a purple tinge to it when the the light hit it right, never did find another spool of that stuff.

Same color had Shakespeare Sigma (what a great line it was!), and this days you can find some issues of Trilene XL. For some reason, not all XL have this color thing (?)
