the weather for the last month has generally been warm but this weekend there is a strong front coming in its going to be very windy and be below freezing Saturday morning and maybe even rain and not get above 53, what kind of effect would this have on the bite Saturday morning?

should be ok. With the front usually it's take's a day to affect them but what do I know I am not a fish.

Big fish eat everyday regardless of the weather. If they didn't they wouldn't get big. Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have a warming trend this time of year, but fish can and will be caught.

a brief burst of cold air is more likely to affect your confidence more than the fish, imo

It was rainy and blowing hard from the north the day Alex caught this fish at Fork.

I think it does affect the fish.

The older I get I opt for the stay home option more than I used to these days laugh

Too bad I already agreed to fish in a tournament on Fork Saturday or I would opt out, LOL

It's April bang

Fortunately for me I have lots of other things to keep me occupied on cold windy days so you won't see me out on the lake and I know you can catch'em in the most miserable weather. In fact I have caught them when the first 3-4 FOW was frozen on Fork back in the day. But I'm older and wiser now and given the choice of getting pneumonia or watching BASS on TV I choose TV but if you're hell bent on fishing regardless of the conditions then I wish you the most and biggest bass of your lifetime.

I think cold fronts do adversely affect fishing. Yes, you can still catch them, but in general I think they hurt the bite. I have found the fish to be active right after the passage of a cold front, but usually the second day is a slower fishing day.

Makes me fat and lazy! I’ll be asleep until 10am Sat! Please let us know how miserable the fishin was after you get home! They do eat, but not very often when they are in shock from water temp change!

Unless you're after pure Florida bass, fish like you normally would. Look for little areas with lots of sunshine and slack water behind irregularities. thumb

unless the outside temp drops the water temp 10 degrees or more the fish will still be shallow and biting.
