I've spent a lot of time on a Hustler, it's good.

Don't need a zero turn to save time, just more speed. Honda for the win.

I think the Dixie Chopper is the fastest now.. I have a scag and love it. They make various models. Notice most of your commercial landscapers are using Scag or Toro. There is a reason for that.

Probably not the fastest but the baddest most expensive would be the Altoz TRX , bang for buck I like the Spartans, I have a Mark Martin 61 inch with a 37 hp efi vanguard cuts great at about 10 mph

I don't know about what is the fastest, but here is what I can say. I currently use 3 zero turn mowers. A diesel Grasshopper at the lakehouse, a Craftsman at my everyday house and a Husqvarna at my parent's place. Biggest POS = Husqvarna. Biggest pain to maintain or find parts/service for = grasshopper. The cheapest (right under 2k at Sears) one that I also haven't done anything to other than 1 battery and sharpen blades in all of its 6 years and still mows great = Craftsman. I mow a fairly rough and patchy but flat 1.2 acres in about 20 minutes with my 42" craftsman. The grasshopper could do it in about half the time. I had a Toro before the Grasshopper and I had more trouble with it than it was worth so after the 4th trip back to dealer I told them to keep it. As for how fast you can mow, I believe that has a lot more to do with how sharp you keep your blades than anything else.

It's not how fast you mow, it's how well you mow fast.

I have an Xmark I purchased it over the Scag for 2 reasons, 1) you sit up high like in a chair (disadvantage) going under low branches but easy to get off, the Scag is like sitting on the floor and at 75 that gets to be important. The second reason was about $1000 difference in price. Unless you are mowing a pool table pay the money for an air ride or what ever your brand of choice calls an upgraded seat they will beat you to death if you have uneven terrain or gofer holes etc.

I posted a similar question on Thursday. Got some good replies.

I ended up getting my FIL John Deere....he blew the hood cover off and said it was a sign for him to get a new one....so I get a John Deere without a hood! Perfect! smile

Yes sir! Runs and mows faster than the Toro I got now. Jump starting my Toro (with brand new battery and starter) just sucks.

Best yet, I get to mark one thing off my TO DO LIST. #saving$
