Interestingly, when I had the problem with the torque converter I looked online and it is mentioned often.
That is strange. I have been a member of the Tundra forum for almost 2 years and never seen a post on someone having tranny problems. I spend almost a year shopping and trying to decide between GM or Toyota. I have seen plenty of post on cam tower leaks but not sure what percentage of trucks actually experience them and to what degree. Tundra and Tacoma owners seem to be a picky group (not that GM owners are not) so even minor problems get blown up at times.

Go with the Tahoe if you decide to get an SUV, there's a reason they sell more than twice any other model.

After reading that I truly believe that you and all the other Toyota groupies are brainwashed and in a cult.

I don't know about brainwashed or a cult, but I've owned em all and Toyota is by far the best I ever had. I was a Chevy man since the 60's when if you want to race there was only one motor. I now drive a Ford because I can buy a used one cheaper than a Chevy but if I had my druthers I'd own a Toyota truck. I do have a Highlander and it is just wonderful. To each there own.

yep, used Fords are cheap because their resale value sucks.

I drive a lot. I have been driving 16 years. I have owned and maintained 6 vehicles with over 200,000 miles on them, 3 over 250k miles. In all that 1 has needed engine work. A GM 350 had crooked mains and wore out the bearings and started knocking well before its first oil change (replaced under warranty). Other than that there have been no engine or transmission repairs. I have never owned a toyota.

Been car hunting a bunch over the past year..mostly looking at blue ovals....and that is most certainly NOT the case. People want as much for a low mileage used truck as you can buy a new one for.

I have nothing against Toyota or GM but if I want a SUV, I buy an Expedition with the ecoboost. That engine is a dream to tow with.

Had a 1999 gmc suburban 4x4 and would pull a single axle boat trailer and it sucked, trailer would sway real bad, I tried everything to fix it with no luck.

Yeah, the guys stating Ford resale sucks are completely ignorant of the facts. I had a 2013 F150 that I sold after 2 years and 30K miles for $4K less than I paid new. I currently have a 2018 F150 that I bought when they first came out which resulted in less incentives, so I won't be in quite that good of shape next time around. But I had a very specific setup I wanted and ordering was my only option.

My cousin's first uncle's brother's best friend's boyfriend, who has been a master mechanic for Chevrolet, Ford, Ram AND NASA, says you're wrong.

Never been a ford guy and actually never owned an ecoboost but have driven one quite a bit. I think ford hit a home run with them. Sure some people, mostly early on, had bad experiences and problems, but what new technology doesn't? It was in the final consideration for when I bought my current truck but I ended up siding with exceptional fuel economy and adequate power instead of unreal power and average fuel economy.

There's a reason why GM sells 75% of large SUVs.
