For those that have had the opportunity to go, what is the best Mexico lake that produces both size and numbers?

We drive down to Lake Oviachic; because we can fish 6 days for the price of a fly in 3 day trip. We averaged 100 per day on our Feb. trip per boat with fish up to 7 lbs each day. Half of our fish each day were from 4 to 7 pounds each day. Just hard to find guys that can get off 10 days of work to make the trip as it is 2 days travel both ways.

I have only been down there once but the guide that hauled us around fishes the pro circuit there and was very knowledgeable. Picachos is where the numbers are, we boated almost 600 fish in three day and the largest went just over 7. Comedero, baccarac and El Salto are known for size.
Talked to two fellas that fished Comedero for two days and they claimed to boat 73 over 7.

Of course Comedero nor Baccarac are as safe as Picachos per the local guys and guide we fish with.

As of right now I would say that Baccarac is probably one of the best big fish lakes in the world. Go check out some recent reports and you would be amazed at the number of DD's caught.

Piece of cake. I've been to Oviachic twice now. I ran into guys out of Pheonix who have been going for over 37 years in a row. For the price you can't beat Oviachic.

What are the accommodations like where you stay?

Do you do your own cooking?

Accommodations are adequate. Two bedrooms sleeps 4, full kitchen, bath, good hot shower and cold air in each cabin. We cook breakfast each morning and fix boat food to take out with us. We eat in the restaurant each night and the food is excellent.

Have fished El Salto numerous times with Anglers Inn. This is a great trip staying at a true fishing lodge with deluxe accommodations. Lake is getting more pressure and DD's are harder to come by.
Recently returned from Lake Comedero (Ron Speed Adventures). This is truly a big fish lake with much better chance of landing a DD. Lake is much larger than El Salto and much more diversed structure with many long coves and creek channels. This is more of a fish camp than a lodge with small bedrooms in a common building with 3 shared bathrooms for eight anglers. Food is excellent. Problem with Comedero is it is getting famous for its large fish, and last time I checked, the place was booked solid through 2019 during prime spawn months of Dec-March. They are already booking for 2020!
Due to the fact I can't get into Comedero I am looking at Lake Baccarac for my next trip

I would think el salto would be getting less pressure with more people going to comodero, baccarac and picachos
