Went up into Little Canney (1st time) , put in at hideaway harbor went North water temp 57* (2 weeks ago found some on beds in little mustang) So I started on the banks went all the way up under the bridge on West bank - only seen an alligator (6ft) and some smaller ones. Idling back seen that beautiful creek channel but didn't mark any fish ( note to self FISH creek channel ) Trolling motor gave up on me tried to anchor on an couple of creeks wind blew me all over the place Noticed on the way home Lavon had the gates open wondering if they had the gates open at Fork and that had them shut down ? Anyway had fun BOATING

She can be awfully tough even for seasoned anglers.
I fished the lake four times last fall. Twice in Oct & twice in Nov. Three of those time were with full time guides. We did not have a fish over 4# any of the four trips. We caught lots of fish. Just a dink-fest each time.
Each trip I wanted to break my rod over my knee and throw it in the lake!!

I don't bass fish much these days but I had a real head scratcher yesterday. I had a HUGE prespawn female on yesterday while fishing for flathead in 27 foot of water main lake. I couldn't make sense of that...easily in the 11-12lb range. Not 10 minutes later I had another fat female shoot to the surface and roll, 32 foot. Definetly strange.

Just confirms what I have always thought. There is a group of fish that NEVER come to the bank to spawn.
